So... What Did You Major In At School?

So, a couple weeks back (July 5th?) there was a PPV UFC event that featured, among other things, the dethroning of a champion fighter, a girlfight, and the absolute facial devastation administered to Chris Lytle, seen below. It's hard enough to come to the realization in other vocations that maybe it's just not for you -- I wonder how hard it is when you're basically bleeding out on a televised event? Ouch.

East Side Fight Night: April 19 2008

So the Saturday night gathering consisted of Dan, Mike, Justin, Billy, Shane, and myself, with guest stars K-Gant and Hannah. There were two pretty fun welterweight title bouts from last weekend -- Antonio Margarito handing another loss to Kermit Cintron (Cintron's only two losses as a professional), and taking his belt in the process; and Miguel Cotto completely drinking Alfonso Gomez's milkshake -- completely dominant.

The main event was the Bernard Hopkins - Joe Calzaghe bout live from Vegas. The Welshman looked shaky in the first few rounds (it was his first-ever pro fight away from the UK), but then turned it on and dominated the last half, winning a split decision and remaining undefeated.


Also of note from the gathering: no complaints from the Angry Raging Gash next door.

In other news, Miguel Cotto is a Very. Bad. Man.
